there's a way to beat the heat Richardsons
Lake on Richardson Lake Road is giving
county residents an option to take a respite
from the balmy weather.
The 13-acre facility usually opens in
mid-May in preparation for the Memorial Day
weekend and has sun worshipers and fun

sounds, and Richardsons Lake offers
wholesome, family-oriented fun, in a safe
controlled environment. Profanity and public

"Security is on the premises
at all times," said Spears. "We have
certified lifeguards on duty at all times.
The way the economy is right now, the
weekend beach trip has become expensive.
It's a great value. It's hard to find a
place where you can come out all day and
enjoy yourself in a family-oriented
atmosphere. It's also a nice place to come
out and socialize."
Water slides, diving boards and platforms

Plans call for a small area to be paved,
which will feature a tiki hut that will
offer blended real fruit smoothies, he said.
Sunday was Michelle Chandler's first time at
Richardson Lake. She came from Augusta and
took the opportunity to spend more time with
her children, Zach and Karen Cook. The
casual and relaxed atmosphere has made the
facility a popular family destination.
"I've heard people talk about it," said
Chandler. "It's really nice."
Richardsons Lake is a natural spring fed
body of water, said Spears. The facility
also offers swimming lessons and lifeguard

Season pass prices are $110 for one, $175
for two, $215 for three, $245 for four and $35
for each additional member of the immediate
family. Daily admission is $6 for adults, $4
for children 3-12 and seniors and children
under the age of 2 are free.

open Monday through Saturday from 10:30 a.m.
to 6:30 p.m. and Sunday form 11 a.m. to 6
